Since 2000 ROVAB have, along with partners worked to make maintenance on transformers and transformer oils easier when it comes to protecting them from water and other impurities.
The resulting work can be found on these pages. Here you can read about the Air Sentry breather and the conversion kit, witch allows for replacement of the breather without entering the direct risk area around the transformer.
From an work environmental point of view, ROVAB’s system is a great leap forward as you are not exposed to either dust from silica gel nor oil from the particle trap
